Rosenbauer, the worlds second-biggest manufacturer of fire-fighting vehicles, considerably exceeded its 2005 results targets. The interim figures indicate that Group revenues rose to EUR 320.0 m (2004: EUR 299.4 m). This improvement is even more clearly apparent in the EBIT, which soared by over 30 % to more than EUR 18.0 m (2004: EUR 13.7 m).
The main factors driving this earnings growth were an excellent result in the USA, the advances made over the last few years on the product and process optimisation front, and the Groups improved market position in international business. The increased result was achieved despite the restructuring outlays incurred for scaling back capacity at Metz Aerials, Karlsruhe, in 2005.
"Our goal for 2005 was to boost EBIT by 10 %, and we have surpassed this by far", notes Julian Wagner, CEO of Rosenbauer International AG, commenting on the interim 2005 figures. "We are proud of the fact that we have hugely strengthened our competitiveness and market position over the past few years. We have advanced to become the second-biggest manufacturer in the sector".
The figures quoted are indicative figures taken from an accounting forecast based on IFRS. The final figures for the 2005 financial year are to be published on April 26, 2006.
