Horstman and Van Halteren Technologies announce MoA to pursue the design and manufacture of road wheel and support roller products for the North American marketplace
Washington D.C., October 16, 2024 – The Horstman Group, a RENK Group Company, is pleased to announce the execution of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Van Halteren Technologies to pursue the design and manufacture of road wheel and support roller products for the North American marketplace.
Horstman provides customers with advanced suspension solutions comprised of a range of suspension products, that have higher performance than conventional systems, complemented by a wide range of advanced suspension ancillary or upgrade products including hydraulic track tensioner systems, Ride Height Control Systems (RHCS™) and Active Damping systems. Horstman’s tracked vehicle suspension systems position the road wheel in the vehicle running gear and provide the wheel hub which secures the road wheel to the vehicle road arm. Through its Sterling Heights, Michigan and Brampton, Ontario, Canada facilities, Horstman designs and supplies running gear solutions for many of the US military’s tracked vehicle systems.
Van Halteren is a global supplier, that designs and develops road wheel and support roller products for a range of global vehicle platforms.
Together, Horstman and Van Halteren are now focusing their combined business development and engineering resources to offer customers the design of road wheel and support roller products that are integrated with Horstman’s proven suspension products to provide customers with a technically compatible mobility solution that will be manufactured in North America for the North American marketplace.
“Through this agreement, Horstman is better able to ensure that the track, road wheels, support rollers, track tension, final drive, transmission, idler, and suspension are technically compatible and integrated into one mobility system. There are always technical trade-offs that occur in designing a tracked vehicle running gear that can result in one sub-system impacting another with the need for iteration between the sub-system providers and vehicle integrator. This agreement positions Horstman to better support our customers in their pursuit of US Army programs.” said Ian Pain, CEO of the Horstman Group.
Theo Koopmanschap, Sales Director of Van Halteren Technologies, said: “Through this agreement, Van Halteren is better able to optimize our road wheel and support roller solutions allowing trade-offs between life-cycle costs, strength and weight when compared to competitor solutions.”
