Bonn, 9. Juli 2020: DHL Global Forwarding, der Luft- und Seefrachtspezialist von Deutsche Post DHL Group, wurde von der International Air Transport Association (IATA) erneut auf globaler Ebene mit dem CEIV-Siegel für Pharmatransporte ausgezeichnet. Mit der Zertifizierung attestiert der internationale Dachverband der Luftfahrtindustrie dem Unternehmen herausragende Service- und Qualitätsstandards durch weltweit einheitliche Prozesse und ein richtlinienkonformes Netzwerk.

DHL setzt sich gemeinsam mit der IATA dafür ein, den regulatorischen Anforderungen der Pharmaindustrie gerecht zu werden. Ein standardisierter Ansatz in der Luftfracht erhöht die Produktivität, Sorgfalt und Zuverlässigkeit und gewährleistet zudem, dass Transporte Richtlinien konform erfolgen. DHL hat bereits 2016 mit der CEIV-Pharma-Zertifizierung seiner weltweiten Standorte begonnen, um die Messlatte für Qualität in der Pharmalogistik so noch höher zu legen. Als Marktführer in der Life-Sciences- und Healthcare-Industrie gibt DHL seinen Mitarbeitern aller Ebenen und Funktionsbereiche weltweit wichtige Instrumente an die Hand, um den Anforderungen sowohl der Kunden als auch der Aufsichtsbehörden bestmöglich gerecht zu werden.
So wurden mithilfe eines speziellen Trainingsprogramms die IATA-Regulierungsstandards an allen wichtigen GxP-Standorten (Good Practice) in großem Maßstab weltweit implementiert. Das im Rahmen der unternehmenseigenen Certified-Initiative angebotene Programm "Certified Life Sciences Specialist" (CLSS) umfasst eine ganze Reihe von verpflichtenden Trainings, Fachkursen und Materialien, mit denen das nötige Know-how für die hochspezialisierte Branche vermittelt wird. Alle Mitarbeiter, die mit dem Handling und der Beförderung von medizinischen und pharmazeutischen Produkten betraut sind, haben das Training erfolgreich durchlaufen und sind zertifizierte Life-Science-Spezialisten. So wird sichergestellt, dass sensible Sendungen mit größter Sorgfalt und unter Einhaltung aller geltenden Branchenstandards bearbeitet werden.
Nach Durchführung von unabhängigen Audits und Schulungen der Mitarbeiter vor Ort erhielt DHL das Gütesiegel für eine Reihe wichtiger Standorte auf der ganzen Welt, darunter Barcelona, Bogotá, Tokio und Chicago. Auf diese Weise steigert DHL Global Forwarding kontinuierlich die Qualität bei der Beförderung und Lagerung der umgeschlagenen Güter, mit dem Ziel, die üblichen Qualitätsstandards zu übertreffen, Produktschäden auszuschließen und den Patientenschutz zu gewährleisten. Mit seiner einzigartigen, validierten Cloud-basierten IT-Plattform LifeTrack sorgt DHL für mehr Transparenz bei temperaturgeführten Transporten. LifeTrack ermöglicht nicht nur die Sendungsverfolgung nahezu in Echtzeit, sondern bietet ein durchgängig proaktives Monitoring sowie Interventionsmöglichkeiten an allen definierten Übergabepunkten. Dies geschieht mithilfe der SmartSensor NFC Technologie (Near Field Communication) von DHL.
Die IATA prüft an jedem Standort, ob geforderte Standards wie die IATA Temperature Control Regulations (TCR) und die GDP (Good Distribution Practices)-Richtlinien der Europäischen Union sowie weitere Vorgaben der Weltgesundheitsorganisation und sonstiger Aufsichtsbehörden eingehalten werden.

Bonn, July 09, 2020: DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist of Deutsche Post DHL Group, has been recertified to the CEIV Pharma Standard of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) globally. The central association for aviation attests to the highest service and quality standards through uniform processes and a compliant network.

Therefore, we are delighted to have received not only the re-certification for IATA CEIV Pharma on a corporate level, but also IATA's approval for our training program 'DHL Life Sciences Specialist'," stated Thomas Mack, Head of Global Air Freight DHL Global Forwarding.

DHL has been actively involved with IATA's continuous efforts to adequately answer to the regulatory demands of the pharmaceutical industry. A standardized approach in air freight increases productivity, accuracy, and reliability while remaining compliant in all required areas. DHL began certifying its global stations according to the IATA CEIV Pharma Certification in 2016 to raise the bar in pharmaceutical logistics. By providing a specialized training program, IATA regulation standards were implemented at scale in key GxP (good practice) facilities worldwide. The CIF Certified Life Sciences Specialist (CLSS) program provides a comprehensive curriculum of mandatory trainings, functional courses, and material to unlock the knowledge of this specialized industry. All designated employees handling and involved in Life Sciences & Healthcare shipments have successfully completed the training and are certified Life Science Specialists. This ensures that sensitive shipments are handled with utmost care and in compliance with the highest industry standards.
Following the independent audits and trainings for employees on site, DHL received the quality label for stations located around the world, including in Barcelona, Bogota, Tokyo, and Chicago. In this way, DHL Global Forwarding enhances transportation and storage quality levels of goods it handles to exceed the usual quality standards, thereby assuring product integrity and thus patients' safety. Due to its unique, validated cloud-based IT platform, LifeTrack, DHL enables more transparency in temperature-controlled transports. LifeTrack not only offers shipment tracking but also enables 24/7 proactive monitoring and intervention based on pre-determined touch points and DHL's NFC SmartSensor technology.
At each location, IATA examines and compares the station's correspondence to its Temperature Control Regulations (TCR) as well as GDP (Good Distribution Practices) guidelines from the European Union, World Health Organization and other regulatory bodies.
