Azet.sk a.s. merges into Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia to form largest digital media company in Slovakia

Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia and Azet.sk a.s. today announced that they have agreed to merge. Azet.sk a.s. - in which Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia acquired a majority stake in 2010 - will be integrated into Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia, along with its strong digital brands, such as the leading online web portal Azet.sk. With its portfolio, Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia will thus reach over 47% of print readers and 83% of Internet users in Slovakia.

As of June 1, 2016, all business units of Azet.sk a.s., such as its transactional unit and content websites, will be integrated into Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia. The company will remain headquartered in Bratislava, while key IT development operations will remain in ?ilina. The leading online portal azet.sk will continue to operate under its strong brand.

Both companies have worked closely together since 2010. In 2015, Milan Dubec, in addition to his role as founder and CEO of Azet.sk a.s., also assumed the role of CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia. In the course of the year 2015, the companies merged several departments, such as IT, HR, Marketing and Corporate Communications. Following the completion of the merger, Milan will remain CEO of Ringier Axel Springer Slovakia a.s. as well as a minority shareholder in the leading digital media company.
