Bio-Thera und STADA schließen Exklusivvertrag für ein geplantes Golimumab-Biosimilar, BAT2506, in der EU und Großbritannien
- Bio-Thera und STADA haben einen exklusiven Vermarktungs- und Lizenzvertrag für BAT2506, einen Biosimilar-Kandidaten zu Simponi® (Golimumab), abgeschlossen

Guangzhou, China/Bad Vilbel, Deutschland – 28. Mai 2024 – Bio-Thera Solutions (688177:SH), ein biopharmazeutisches Unternehmen im kommerziellen Stadium, das eine Pipeline innovativer Therapien und Biosimilars entwickelt, und STADA Arzneimittel AG, das weltweit tätige Unternehmen für Spezial-, Generika- und Verbraucherarzneimittel, haben eine exklusive Vermarktungs- und Lizenzvereinbarung für BAT2506, einen Biosimilar-Kandidaten zu Simponi® (Golimumab), geschlossen.
Im Rahmen der Vereinbarung wird Bio-Thera Solutions ("Bio-Thera") die Verantwortung für die Entwicklung, Herstellung und Lieferung von BAT2506 übernehmen. Die STADA Arzneimittel AG ("STADA") wird die exklusiven Rechte zur Vermarktung des Produkts in der Europäischen Union (EU), Großbritannien, der Schweiz und ausgewählten anderen Ländern haben.
Die Vereinbarung sieht vor, daß Bio-Thera Auszahlungen, inklusiv Entwicklungs- und Vermarktungsmeilensteine, von bis zu 157,5 Millionen US-Dollar erhält, sofern bestimmte Bedingungen erfüllt sind.

Golimumab ist ein humaner monoklonaler IgG1-Antikörper, der auf den Tumor-Nekrose-Faktor alpha (TNF- α), ein entzündungsförderndes Molekül, abzielt. Die Bindung von Golimumab an TNF-α führt zu einer Verringerung von C-reaktivem Protein (CRP), Interleukin 6 (IL-6), Interzellulärem Adhäsionsmolekül 1 (ICAM-1), Matrix-Metalloproteinase 3 (MMP-3) und Vaskulärem Endothelialem Wachstumsfaktor (VEGF), allesamt Entzündungsmarker.
