ADVA Optical Networking (Neuer Markt: ADV), a leading global provider of optical networking solutions, announces that on Thursday, July 13, 2000, the acquisition of First Fibre Ltd. was successfully completed. The total number of newly-issued non-bearer shares for the acquisition of First Fibre Ltd. was 1,061,862.
First Fibre Ltd. is a leading U.K.-based designer and manufacturer of carrier-class fiber access equipment and optical networking systems. First Fibre's solutions for high-speed data applications in telecommunication carrier and enterprise networks expand ADVA's presence to the edge of metropolitan access networks. This acquisition underscores ADVA's position as a leading global provider of optical networking solutions in the enterprise and metro access markets by adding complementary products to ADVA's portfolio.
The issuance of the new non-bearer shares for the closing of the acquisition of First Fibre Ltd. results in a new nominal capital of 32,008,212 Euro for ADVA Optical Networking. These shares have been issued following ADVA's capital increase from reserves, similar to a 5-for-1 stock split, which was effective on July 12, 2000. As a result of this capital increase from reserves, the number of ADVA shares outstanding increased from 5,157,725 shares to 30,946,350 shares.
